Call a helpline for free, anonymous help. Call the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 800-799-SAFE (7233) or 800-787-3224 (TDD). The hotline offers help 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, in many languages.

Hotline staff can give you numbers for other resources, such as local domestic violence shelters.

If you are deaf or hard of hearing, there are resources available for you .

The National Coalition of Anti-Violence Programs has a hotline to help LGBTQ victims of violence.

If you need help with an eating disorder, you can contact the following helplines1:

If you or someone else is in immediate danger, please contact 999. Each state operates a 211 emergency and crisis information line that can be used to locate state resources. The National Suicide Prevention LifeLine and its state affiliates accept calls for all types of crises including concerns about eating disorders.

If you are in a crisis and need help immediately, call 988 or continue to contact Crisis Text Line by texting “NEDA” to 741741 to be connected with a trained volunteer at Crisis Text Line. Crisis Text Line is a separate organization staffed by volunteers who provide free, 24/7 support via text message to individuals who are struggling with mental health, including eating disorders, and are experiencing crisis situations.
